My main reason for coming overseas to Germany, as an exchange student, was to gain experience by going to school abroad and to learn about different cultures around the world. The second reason to come to Germany was simply because I love traveling and this was the perfect opportunity to travel and experience a new way of life.
My stay so far has taught me how to be more independent and responsible. It has also taught me that a numerous amount of people have the wrong impression of South Africa. I hope that before I leave, I can take a few memories and lessons with me and leave behind a touch of South Africa. Taking part of this exchange program has been one of my best decisions I have made in my entire life. I believe this experience will help me grow and change (for the better) as a person, and I truly feel lucky to have been in a position to have had this opportunity.
